A while back I read some ideas regarding being pumped upped for work. Reading quotes is cool and can be shared. My reading suggested to not watch the news or listen to it, most news is bad news and may leave us discouraged. It is clear in business, definely for blackinbusiness, we must put our problems behind us and be happy and excited when we work. I always listen to music in my car and have found, greatness can come from a great attitude, and great music can contribute to it.

My current CD in my car are by; Sonny Rollins,Coup,Ice Cube,Mckoy Tyner, and Corrine Bailey Rae. In fact, Sonny Rollins in in twice, and Corrine Bailey Rae is a fresh new sound. A morning work out is another way to start the day uplifted, go to the gym at 6am and you will arrive at the office feeling as though, you already made something happen.

In closing, a quote from the late and great, John Johnson, founder of Ebony magazine . ” It is not what the dream is, it is what the dream does!”

Sir,while I concur with your message regarding being postive as we work. I can not help but to feel if we[put our problems behind us and be happy and excited as we work]We have again fail to keep our eyes on our prize. As we picked cotton we whistled and sang.So my guestion is if we continue to put our problems behind us how do we face them. We did’t come with eyes in the back of our heads.I’d rather know whats ahead of me rather then whats coming up behind me.In business as well as life the most positive way for me is to keep it real and to always keep our problems up front. So that one day we can own the cotton field rather then to forget and continue convincing ourselves other wise. Never forget focus is key not denial.Good Luck!!!

You are right about buying the cotton field, look at my blog regarding the barber shop. some issues must be confronted and addressed. Some of our most profound moments are expressed through music. We picked cotton and sang , whistled, and did what was necessary to make it. I love music, and have used it to help my focus during some trying personal times, when I had to deal in the real world. My mangement did not care about my problems, they wanted production. My problems were behind me for the moment but were there and needed to be dealt with in a manner that still allow for me to be productive.
Thanks for your thought, you are 2breal! keep in touch and keep hope alive
