GOP3.com:The Triumvirate

Milwaukee is a nice city. The summer fest is off the hook. It is a beer town, Lew Alcindor and Oscar Robinson played there, look it up. I never expected to find a conservative blog there. These guys have a nice blog and used the politically correct word for black , African American. Wow, black news on a conservative blog! What a great country. I discovered Lewis Bulter is the first African American on the state’s Supreme Court. I kept looking for the Iraq pull out strategy or news on the impeach George Bush movement but I did not find the post. Check it out, link below.

In Washington, Could there be a bigger story on the cornor of M street and Wisconsin ave, than The Georgetown Hoyas.I would have talked a little basketball in the opening paragraph but Marquette got spanked yesterday.

In 1983, Georgetown won the NCAA tournament and the Coach was John Thompson. I do not think any college basketball team was as loved by the black community than those Hoyas. White folk hated the team but John Thompson became the first and maybe only black head coach to win the national Championship.

Now Georgetown has a chance to win again. Many experts say the Hoyas are the hottest team in the nation. The Coach? John Thompson III, the former coaches son. What a potential lagacy.Coach Thompson of the 80’s made sure his players graduated. I hope his son follows in his foot steps, both on and off the court.

A Big Fat Slob

You have to have confidence to call your blog A big Fat Slob. Mr Slob is a member of the Political Grind network and I paid a visit today. He deals with politicts around the state of PA. I clicked on  the site and like the name i was shocked, you need to see. The topic is similar to blackinbusiness and Mr Slob has an informative style. His voice is loud and clear. Please pay this man of courage a visit. Link below.

In other political news, my man Rev. Al Sharpton put Barrack Obama on  notice that he may not be in his camp.  I can see the Senator informing his supporters, I have bad news, Rev. Sharpton may not be with us. The staff say ok now what is the bad news.

I hope Senator Obama and his team provides Rev. Sharpton with the respect he rightly deserves. Rev has fought hard so the opportunity Obama has would some day come true. It would be a mistake to blow him off. Everybody  agree?

Political Grind Networks

I am excited regarding my membership in the Political Grind  Networks. This is a network of bloggers who have interest in politics and write about certain aspects of it. My topics are black related and mostly in the US, although international issues will be discussed as well. I will introduce you to other members over the next couple of weeks and link you to their blog.

What dose politics have to do with blackinbusiness? Everything! The 1965 voters right act provided us the right to vote as black people without discrimination. We use to have polling test and other methods were used to keep us from voting. The civil rights era was in part effective because of political awareness.

We are no longer wanting to just sit in the front of the bus, or use the same water fountain. We want small business loans, money for college, continuation of affirmative action. We have a brother with a chance to become President of the Unitied States.  We must know the issues and have a voice.

I came accross the Political Grind, a member of the Political Grind Network. This is a blog of bipartsian potitics. Today I read and commented on a compelling post, “support our troops.” Stop by and you will find some post of interest and topics that are easy to debate. See the links below. You will also find links to the network and the voting rights act. Keep Hope Alive!

Black Business Person, white spouse, help or hurt

This summer will mark the 40th year anniversay of the end of anti miscegenation laws.In the 1950’s Richard and Mildred Loving moved to Virginia from Washington, DC where they had married. Mr Loving, a white man and Mrs Loving a black women  were sentenced to 1 year in prison. They sued the state and in 1967 the supreme court ruled the ban on  Interracial marriage violated the 14th admendment of equal protection.

Fast forward to 2007 the ban on gay marriage is being lumped into a comparision  to interracial marriage. As I recall, the only problem with interracial dating and marriage was when it involved black and white mates. Many interracial couples are angered at the comparsion They could feel as the Governor of California felt when he said,”Gay marriage should be between a man and a woman.” Look it up!

This being the 40th year of legal marriage between black and white couples, it still is a problem for some people. I have seen a high performing biracial male career come to a halt when he married a white woman. This gentleman, was half black and half white and perhaps identified with his white genes more so than the black ones. Neverless the powers to be saw him as a black man dating  and now married to a white woman. I know of another case, where a half white and half black man was engaged to a white woman. The white woman’s grandmother was on her death bed and had one request for her grandaughter. “What ever you do, please do not marry that n-word.” Think about it, not stay happy, healthy, work hard, stay out of jail or any other dying request. Heavy.

I think the interracial love affair, particularly when it is black and white can be and most likely will be a business  problem for the lovers. I have witness this in my own family, where my brother is a super star salesman but his employers have given him a hard time. I hope to get some feed back on this. Dose it hurt for a black business person to have a white spouse? Should gay marriage be compared to interracial marriage? Please see the link below to find out more.

Judge Clarence Thomas, friend or foe of black business

In the Sunday Chicago Tribune there was an article about an interview Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.Judge Thomas spoke about his days at Holy Cross University where he was a student during the later part of the 60’s. Judge Thomas is against affirmative action, and his votes have been harmful to black people.

Judge Thomas benefited from Quotas when he was appointed to the bench by  the father of our current President ,George HW Bush SR. Judge Thomas was a replacement for reverred Judge Thurgood Marshall. Judge Marshall spent his life fighting for the betterment of black people.

The Republicans and Bush Sr wanted to replace Judge Marshall with a black judge filling the quota of 1 black judge on the nations highest court. Judge Thomas’s placement on the court represents the worst aspect of quotas. The President wanted to find a black judge, who views would match the platform of the republican party and hense be harmful to black people. No easy task if being qualified was part of the plan.

Judge Thomas was nominated, and behold we found a black conservative. A very dark skinned, up from the boot straps house n word.  Judge Thomas has distanced himself from his people. In love he has a white wife, the young lawers that clerk for him are all white males.

Judge Thomas is a foe to black business and black people. His positions are harmful and still at the time we had black folk supporting him because he was black. Judge Thomas is an example of self hatred and hate of black people. A link to this interview is below.
