Media Lizzy
One of my favorite blogs in the Political Grind Network is authored by Media Lizzy She is a conservative blogger and does an incredible job. Her writing style is full of energy, fresh and sassy. Just think how difficult it must be to support George W. Bush, the war in Iraq, the direction of the country and still be able to rally fellow conservatives. Please pay a visit and you will be impressed and will revisit regardless of your views.
Poor conservatives, sell us on good old American values. Here are some news clips. Another bloody day in Iraq,March Housing sales dive, 8% nationwide, 22% in Chicago, probe into allegations of illegal political activity within the executive branch. This probe includes a White House Office lead by Carl Rove, Ann Coulter calls Democratic Canidate for President, John Edwards a faggot. I have to wonder how she refers to canidate Barack Obama?
Perhaps the most damaging and embarrassing recent episode took place yesterday on Capital Hill. The family of Pat Tillman, or has he referred to himself, when being killed by “friendly fire,” Pat F—ing Tillman, testified before the House Committee on Oversight and Government reform. In a separate testimony America witness a confident and polished former Army Pfc Jessica Lynch. It was sad by not surprising to learn of the length the Bush lead government would go in using deception to gain support for this unwise and ethical war.
All the bs, support the troops, Bush and his team does not care about the troops. Have you learned of bigger hero’s than Pat Tillman and Jessica Lynch. The stories all of us felt good about, even a war protester like myself, are lies. If Bush and his team lied about the death of an American hero, Pat Tillman, what else have they lied about? If Jessica rejected Bush attempt to make her America war Princess, because she was uncomfortable with the lies, what else have they lied about?
Bush used these 2 troops and their families to promote a story of heroism that suited their own purposes. The family of Pat Tillman and former Pfc Lynch showed us what honor is all about. I hope the President watched and took notes.

When I read about what really happened to Pat Tillman and Jessica Lynch, I couldn’t believe it. I know that government has and would do come grimy stuff. But this was just like “damn are you serious”. I really hope everyone that voted for bush is happy….suckers….

Don’t forget bigger government, more debt and more spending.
I used to call myself ‘conservative’ but I can’t find a single conservative thing about this administration.

Thanks for the love, Jim.
Indeed, these are trying times. Hopefully - I can shed a teeny, tiny bit of light on where we find ourselves now. First of all… President Bush is a Republican, not a Conservative. We don’t live in the UK, and it ain’t a Party here in the US. Frankly, I take it as a badge of honor that “conservatives” no longer like W. GOOD. They can take Ann Coulter & Tom Tancredo with them. The hyper-rcist, sexist & faux-religious/family values routine hasn’t done anything but drag my Republican Party into the mud.
Next, let’s dish on Tillman. Yes, the DoD handled it improperly BUT - at least the Tillman family has all that money ‘to demand a real answer. Must be nice to utilize atheism & anti-War rhetoric to get a Hearing on Capitol Hill. How many families of deceased soldiers during the Clinton Administration had their deaths classified as “unwitnessed events” - and will never be given an answer??? I can think of several, average families with just such a problem. And no one will ever know - because those families understand there are unethical a**holes in every workplace, even the military.
And JESSICA LYNCH? Are you kidding me??? This girl profited to the tune of $1mill for her book deal, plus a free house - she was perfectly happy to take money & be the “Princess” as long as the cash rolled in. For her to testify against the military - is just repulsive. She never belonged on the battlefield. She was too weak - and could not jack her weapon, so instead she his underneath the body of a woman who died protecting Jessica instead of the mission. Jessica Lynch is No Pat Tillman. As a Gold Star Wife, that insipid baby talk before Waxman was just about the most revolting & dishonorable display I have ever seen - except for that of Cindy Sheehan.
The biggest mistake Bush has is not firing Condi Rice, Karl Rove, & Al Gonzales. He can’t run the whole ship himself - so he needs competent staff that will serve him - and the American People honorably.
As for the rampant corruption, I hope Jack Abramoff sings like a canary. I’d like nothing better than to have Tom DeLay spend 40 years in federal prison. He deserves a hands-on look at the “appropriations” he directed towards prison security.

You’re correct, President Bush is a Republican… and that’s the problem.
The President isn’t supposed to be representing his party, he’s supposed to be doing the right thing for his/her country.
The President’s oath is to the best of his ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.
I look forward to the day that we get a true leader that will actually follow the oath of office and represent all Americans rather than picking a side on the left or right.

Dame, it is very sad and you and I knew the Bush machine was one of hype,bs and great marketing. They sold the public and many people got sucked in. The amazing aspect for me was far too many blacks voted for Bush.

Media, thanks for the feedback and your open minded review of our leadership. The people he should have fired or dropped may also include Cheney. Condi chould have never have been Secetary of State. If Bush kept Powell and listen, we may have captured Bin Laden by now and Saddam would still be alive.
I saw the Coolest George Bush moment in his tenure dancing on stage. He may have been fun when he was drinking.Laura not so cool.

Doug, my man, you are starting to come around. I am wondering, where is the outrage America felt when Bill Clinton lied about sexual relations with that woman! Bush was bring trust and respect back and they have lied about every thing related to this war.

JD,
I think Americans are simply becoming de-sensitized to ‘politics’ and ‘lying’. It’s sad, but we’ve come to expect it from our government. We should never, EVER, allow any public servant to lie to us.
As for Pat Tillman, I was enlisted in the USN and saw cover-ups first hand. It’s the politics of our military. Becoming a General or Admiral has nothing to do with military knowhow… it’s all politics.
When I was in the Gulf war, we steamed through a cloud of nerve agent. Our electronic chemical detectors recognized it, and our teams that checked it with manual chemical kits confirmed it. A day or two later, though, we were informed by our XO that it was simply a reaction with some cleanser that set off the alarms.
Now there’s a number of vets suffering from an unidentified ‘Gulf War’ syndrome and our Government is calling it a myth and not helping those who gave everything for them.
Our country has a long history of using and abusing it’s volunteer military. The Pat Tillman incident was of no surprise to me.

Doug thank you for the comment and your service to the nation. You are right the Government lying is no longer unacceptable.
