There is a lot happening in Chicago this week. I went to see the New York Yankee play the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night. My buddy hooked me upped with scout seats. We sat in seats behind home plate. 2 years ago the Sox poured concrete on a part of the field and added 300 seats for premium seating. These tickets now have a face value of 250 dollars. The price includes a great all you can eat buffet, including carved tenderloin of beef and turkey. All dinks are included as well. The Sox build a nice club for the meal and it has a long bar and several TV’s. They have a conference center and a lot of cool historical mementos.
This weekend is the blues festival, I cannot wait. It is free and blues plays at Grant Park from 12 noon to midnight. This is true American music that is enjoyed all over the world and Chicago is a great blues city. I plan to visit either Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Other happenings include; Old Town Art Fair, Wells Street Art Festival, Ribfest Chicago, Italian Food and Wine Festival and the Sox play Houston.

Thanks for the shout, JD. Writing stuff like that spurs me on to get better.

Of course, writing about the Sox brings back memories. I used to hold season tix (left field) with every game starting in the right field club during BP.

Hopefully someday, we’ll catch a game together (no matter the seat location:-))
