Supreme Court Ruling, Protects Workers in Race Related Cases!
The word used is retaliation! My Father use to tell me how way back in the day, before trade unions helped the working class, a black worker could work 40 hours and get paid for 15 or 20 hours. He went on to say, you could not complain or you would be fired. That my friends is retaliation.
Have you ever been a victim of a racist or sexist boss, or maybe someone that just didn’t like you. I have and it was important for me not to get fired. So I tried to keep my composure because complaining would not have mattered. I will go so far as to say, almost all of my bosses in my early days were insensitive at best and hard core racist at worst. These were the early days of affirmative action and the hate was all around. We had invaded the bastion of male white supremacy. The work place was open up to people of color and women.
Fast forward to today, workers are better protected but bias still exists. Discrimination is still around.Law Suits have shown some of the horrible things done in the work place through monetary awards to the plaintiffs. Some very bright people of color have experienced retalitation from their superiors with very little done. I am surprised this conservative court ruled in favor of working people over the corporate interest.Do you think the Judges are influence by Obama’s surprising success and the public total rejection in opinion polls of the direction the country is headed? This is a good ruling for black in business.

I agree, and with the majority of businesses being ’small business’, they are exempt from many of the laws that large companies must follow. Unfortunately, our economy is built on business rights and not personal rights, though.
A fascinating movie to watch on this is The Corporation.
