I Got My Money!
Last year a hustler bounced a check on me and ended up owing me 8200 dollars and had difficulty paying me back. I did a post called, “Hey Man I want My MFing Money!” I went back and read it and it sounds angry, thank God I was not moved to an impulse.
I got my cash and it took 9 months. This was a hand shake deal, and I was investing in sports tickets. We had no contract, just the faith of good will. The first few weeks every thing went well and I was making a little extra cash. Then the bad stuff started, a check bounced twice and I was down over 8 grand.
The hustler spoke like he was a very wealthy man but was not always liquid. I was introduced to him by credible people and I did not execute proper dillgence and almost got burned.
We got the outstanding balance down to 2800 dollars and my man disappeared and stop taking my calls. I had an associate Geno , place a call. The outcome was an envelope with most of the cash. The final payment required another call and I was paid in full.
I never asked Geno what he said to bring home the cash but I did give Geno a token of my appriciation.
The business lesson is to do business in writing and be careful to whom you trust. If a deal seems to go to be true it usually is. If you read the comment for the original post, you will find more good advice.

Is Geno currently accepting new clients?
I could keep him busy for a while.

Sounds like out of a movie:
I had an associate Geno, place a call.
It’s funny how quick people tend to pay once Geno gives them a call. I have had a few scammers take me for bucks as well, but I guess it is in my nature to still trust people for face value and a handshake.

I’m also considering using a specialized copywriting software called Glyphius. Has anyone had any experience with this? It is supposed to use statistical analysis to optimize the wording of your advertising copy. I’d be interested in hearing any feedback, good or bad. Thanks

Always get things written in paper, after the handshake. Trust is all about initiation in projects, not sticking to responsibilities. In this day and age, it is increasingly important to write up contracts with objectives, responsibilities and milestones and escape clauses that are fair for each party.

I concur, business should always be done in writing. Gone are the days when the handshake meant anything (just like swearing on the Bible). Sad.
Another important lesson is to really take a look at who you do business with. I have learned that there is a big difference between an entrepreneur that knows how to hustle and a “hustler”. Look beyond a person’s obvious drive and convincing words. Do they look credible on the surface?

Getting contracts in writing is very important, I agree. I just think it’s a hassle at times for smaller fee jobs. It might be easier just to get a check overnighted or have them send something through paypal before you ever start.
As a compywriter that tends to perform best for me.
