Rev. Jackson’s comments about Senator Obama
Much has been said about Rev. Jackson’s unfortunate comments about Senator and Presidential candidate Obama.Rev. Jackson’s comment caused him to say he was sorry. Many of the black community agree with Jackson saying, you got that right Rev. you are sorry!
Cam you imagine the embarassement, you are whispering about someone so no one unintended will hear. Shortly there after, you learn, the whole world heard you vulgar comments. You have to admit, that part is funny!
Rev. Jackson is an icon, a hero and a legend. He has worked tirelessly on behalf of civil rights for 5 decades. He has fought all comers for the benefit of black people. He was with Dr. King when King was shot.He was the face of boycott of corporate giants, to force inclusion of black America in many big jobs. Rev. Jackson brought us all pride as he ran for President. Without Jackson, the Obama run would have not met the same acceptance.
Yes, I support Rev. Jackson and it is a shame and a disgrace, that so many blacks want to turn our backs on the Rev.This stinks of disloyalty and we owe Jackson a debt of gratitude for his 5 decade run for the betterment of black America.
Having said that, Rev.did screw up, and the criticism of his comments are warranted. His son Congressman Jackson and namesake, handle this situation with a stern yet classy rebuttal on behalf of his candidate and choice for President, Senator Obama.
Senator Obama accepted the apology.Black America, it is fine to be critical of Jackson but it is dangerous for us to allow his becoming irreverent. Remember all that he done for us.

My sentiments exactly. We ought not to think of men greater than they are.

I hate to be the be the “black sheep” of the comments, but maybe it’s time for Jesse to retire from the scene.
He means well and he has contributed greatly to the Black cause.
But he seems to be more of a nuisance these days than anything.
Just my opinion.

JD,while you have always been a fan of Rev.Jackson, you also know that my support of the Rev. has been luke warm at best, and his most recent comments affirm my feeling.I will say that Rev.Jackson has contribute to the black race and the black race has praise him for his efforts.Black people are a forgiving race,we forgave the Rev. when he became a baby’s daddy, now the Rev. is calling n–gers, and wanting to castrate a black man for speaking truth…does the Rev. attitude ring a familiar sound….AKA, slavemaster. The Rev. Jackson has sadly become blind to his own arrogance, as Barack’s time has come the Rev. time has come and gone.

No matter what your “status” that doesn’t give you the right to verbally assault people. I understand though that it is done every day by millions of people including reverends. I guess this is why some people should keep their opinions to themselves.
I personally don’t care what rev. Jessie thinks or wants to do with Obama’s nuts, the entire thing only serves as a distraction away from the issues, which should be the focus of the presidential race.

Sometimes I feel like we should go back to the days of telegraphs, radio, and telephones.
Why?
Just TMI.
Jesse said what he felt and that statement is/was probably echoed by others.
So what.
Sticks and stones….

Regina, thanks for your comment, it was a short lived controversial issue that will have no influence on the election.

Omega, I agree with your comments and understand Rev was wrong. Many Black people show less tolerence for Rev than say Gov. George Wallace, whom treated blacks poorly in life but we still cried at his funeral. I think there has to be a place for Rev. Jackson going forward.
