Like Politics, Like Business,
Barack Obama is the most famous celebrity in the world. It has been implied that he is like Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. Barack represents the best Black America has to offer and we are rapidly discovering, he represents the best America has to offer. My wife told me about a poll, where the nations of the world were surveyed to determine the best candidate for President of the United States. It is my understanding Barack was the overwhelming favorite in all but 2 nations. One was his nation, USA, and the other was kept secret
Can you imagine how strong a insult it is for the best America has to offer, Barack Obama being compared to Paris Hilton, a woman recently incarcerated, and shown in a sex tape sucking dick. The other, lost custody of her children to KFed, and was wheeled into the psycho ward recently.
The good people of the United States seem to buy into McCain racist message. The race is even now after Barack historic and wildly successful overseas trip.
I have learned through my business life experience that white folk can bring down most blacks and there is a tendency to believe the vilest things said about us when said by another white person. This is very true in business and now we are seeing the same truth in politics.
The republicans are hoping for 2 things, the talk stays on race and Barack’s image, and not on issues. The other is that Barack’s young and black supporters do not show up on election day. The flip side of that is for this countries racist to become so enraged over uppity Negros, that they turn out in record numbers.
My college roommate sent me this compelling story line today. Have a look this helps to sum things up. Many of our accomplishments are not known and we are viewed as 3/5s a man. Let’s show them that the hands that picked cotton will now pick the President. Yes We Can!
WHY IS IT…
A Black Man
Why is it that a Black Man can create a tiny piece called a filament (electric light - Lewis Latimer) that allows people to see in the dark?
But can’t be seen fit to lead a country to the true light.
Why is it that a Black Man can create an instrument (clock - Benjamin Banneker) that all people use to tell time?
But people don’t think it is time for him to run a country.
Why is it that a Black Man can design a place for the high authorities to meet in and a place for the president to live in (The Capital and the White House Phillip Reid (a slave) and Pierre L’Enfant)?
But not good enough to lead these meetings or live in himself.
Why is it that a Black Man was brilliant enough to do the first open heart surgery (Dr. Daniel Hale Williams) and show the world how to get and preserve plasma (Dr. Charles Drew)?
But not good enough to put a program in place where everyone can afford this surgery.
Why is it that a Black Man was creative enough to design an instrument (traffic light - Garrett Morgan) to bring multiple people (traff ic) to a halt?
But not seen creative enough to design a plan to bring all this unnecessary and worthless fighting between countries.
Why is it that a Black Man could create the soles (shoes - Jan Matzeliger) that people walk on every day?
But not seen good enough to fill the shoes of a bad president.
Why is it that a Black Man was smart enough and brave enough to teach himself (Fredrick Douglas and Thomas Fuller - both slaves) and others how to read, write and/or calculate math?
But not seen smart enough and bold enough to calculate a platform to be President to a country that sure needs another first by us.
So you see my Brothers and Sisters what I am saying is let us not forgot our past, which led us to our present and can definitely be the backbone to our future. We were good enough, smart enough, creative enough, and bold enough then, so let us all give Obama the chance to show that we are still these things and more. We all are as strong as our weakest link, so do not be that weak link that denies our people that chance to show we still can OVERCOME AND BE THE FIRST!
OUR NEXT PRESIDENT OF THESE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA !
LET US ALL CONTINUE PRAYING THAT THIS PRESIDENT WILL ADHERE TO AND BE LED BY GOD

the passion you used to fuel these thoughts leaps off this page. I feel everything that you’re saying. It saddens me to no end to realize the only reason Barack isn’t blowing up the polls by a landslide is simply because he’s black. there’s no sugar-coating it…it’s the disgraceful truth. I only hope that it’s God’s will that Barack Hussein Obama become the next President of the United States! It’s certainly my will and should be the will on any American looking for a future that doesn’t run parallel to the mess we’re in right now. Excellent post JD.

If you think about it, it should come as no surprise that Barack is not being feted nearly as much as he should be.
Look at the history of our world. For centuries past the peoples of Egypt, Persia, Arabia, India, China, etc. have had their discoveries and inventiveness stolen from them by those of European stock.
I’m talking about the alphabet, mathematics (including algebra, trigonometry, calculus, etc.), astronomy, mechanics, nautical, - the list goes on.
How was this accomplished?
You already know, for who’s to take the word of a person of color over that of a white man.
We haven’t come that far from our past. We haven’t truly become an ‘advanced’ civilization. We haven’t come to embrace our brothers and sisters - of whatever stripe, we shouldn’t really be calling ourselves human.
How sad.
I could almost cry.

I came across an interracial community called +++Blackwhitemeet.com++ one year ago. I posted my profile there and met my black boyfriend. This is a club for black & white singles to find ideal match.

Rochelle, hi, I was by your blog yesterday, nice outlook. Thanks for your comment.Young Blacks can learn about, setting goals, overcoming odds, and unfair, unbalance, evaluations, from the media in this campaign. The media is symbolic of our bosses and how they relate to us. The media and our bosses are mostly white and bias. If we can learn and become more effective in our fields by seeing how our best get treated, and still not back down, we will become a stronger race of people. As for the election, I still think Barack will win, he is that good.

Morgan, thanks for your contribution to this debate. We have seen the white world take credit for most things good, and people of color leading newcast all over the US, for things bad. We need to be more aware of our greatness so people will see our potential is with limits, except the self imposed.

Wow - I post 2 bits, JD and you zapped it into gold with your amazing story. I loved it and it could easily become a book!! I’d be first in line to buy a copy!
As for my own example. I did less well in business when I focused on losses and missed the open windows and wonderful adventures that come through people like you JD.
When housing fell through the floor I remember to give thanks for the Center and because more caring about others who needed shelter.
Because I pay way to much health care for way to little real service, I have taken far more responsibility for staying healthy.
Because I would meritocratically, I try to stay current in my field and read daily updates on the human brain - so that I can try to inspire and transform workplaces to use more of it.
I’ve come to stop feeling that security is there for my later years, and take far more active care to help make some sense of financial security there because of decisions I make daily.
Wow — I had been impacted by each of the categories I listed at http://www.brainbasedbusiness.com/2008/08/financial_woes_that_make_you_s.html . It’s just that you took my 2 bits and gave back gold. Thanks JD. I look forward to see how others found that financial woes make us smarter! Thanks for your cool offering, friend!
