Fix The Economy with Your Vote

Lets use a great question uttered by Ronald Regan in a debate. Are you better off today, than 8 years ago? I ask this question to our once great nation. America, are you better off today than you were 8 years ago. America are you better off today than you were in 1964? Why 1964? Since 1964 only 2 democrats have won the white house on election day. That right we have put our national faith in the hands of the Republican party.
I grew up during the 50, 60 and early 70’s. For much of that time, there was no question, America was a great and admired nation with allies all over world. Today, a broke, third world economy, meaning serviced based. we were the manufacturer and salesman to the world, now we are cosumers for the world. In the 60’s, made in Japan or China, meant junk or cheap. the us dollars were silver certificates, now they are Federal reserve notes, or loans. We borrow money from China to hand out to our citizens, to fool the economy.
The world is no longer ruled only by men that look like McCain and Bush, we need to show the world that we understand business is global and involves politics. We need to show we get by our bias regarding color, race and gender. We must show our young people that we are capable of keeping hope alive. With out hope we have nothing. Who you going to vote for?

    As usual awesome post!!
By the way, “In the 60’s, made in Japan or China, meant junk or cheap.”
Well, it still means the same today but most Americans don’t care!
American just don’t seem to understand that a country that will lie, cheat, and disfigure it’s own for the sake of saving face, or for the sake of money, don’t give a darn about Americans!

Biden looks a lot like Bush and McCain if you ask me. I’ll also admit that I’m doing much better than I was 8 years ago. :)

Perhaps a better question might be “Can you even recognize your country now that George Bush has finished making a total disaster of it?” To which I would reply, “George Bush was so bad he successfully turned this once idealist into a total cynic, this once Republican into an independent!”

Great post. You can follow what is happening in the economy from this site http://www.tradememe.com

Regina, thanks for the comment. It is true that many Americans may not care about the balance of trade, that is until they lose their jobs. I do think the countries that sell to us now may be thrilled that we have become so dependent.

  6. JD Says:

Doug, I agree Biden looks like Bush and McCain but Obama needs the white working class vote, many of whom, unlike you are worst off today. With your relative youth, I would expect as the years go by for things to get better. That is why my questioned was geared toward our great land of America. Is she better off?

Monex Fraud, with out hope we have nothing. My hope is for huge change to restore the glory to the US. The fact that the US Republican brand is dead, will help.

thanks Alan for the comment and the link to a nice site

It’s a tough question. I’d say this - financial mismanagement by the Republicans has got most of their party in an uproar, as well as the ‘Patriot Act’ which did nothing but take additional freedoms away from us.

Given the conflict with Al Qaeda and the subsequent security needs, everyone knew we were going to take a bad economic hit. Combined with the incredulous financial ineptness, we’re definitely due for a change. I think many white republicans moved to independent during this pre-election process because of the very ideals that Barack supported. Whites made history - largely supporting a minority to lead the change needed in the country.

JD, I think Barack really hurt himself by going to Biden. Biden has a 40 yr track record of supporting the FBI, Patriot Act, Iraq War, big corporations, the RIAA and copyright laws that are crushing creativity in this country. Biden is the epitome of the ol’ boy network and it’s sad to see Obama in bed with him.

I liked Obama because he said he was going to change things. Now, it appears that that won’t happen.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying a vote for McCain will (although he does have a good past with regard to fiscal responsibility), I’m just saying that I think we’ve got another election where no one had the courage to stand up against the establishment.

Doug, I am not a fan of Biden for the reasons you mentioned, he gave Bush-McCain a lot of support during the tragic past 8 years. He also laid down to the Republicans during the Anita Hill hearings. The bottom line, Barack could not have won with an Insider on his team.

    Jim Walton,
I agree that the death of the Republican brand is a good thing. Too bad the Democratic one isn’t much better. I’d like to see the people take this country back by refusing to vote for a candidate from either party. Maybe then we could break the back of the lobbyist’s monopoly on our political system.

I think a better question (That no one can answer right now) , that is on everyone’s mind is will we be better off 4 years from now???

  13. Monex Fraud Says:

“will we be better off 4 years from now???”
Oh I sure hope so! I have my doubts about Obama, but I’ll take my chances with him over McCain(Bush III) any day. I hear people talking all this racket about Reverend Wright, but the thing about Wright is, he’s right! (pun intended) I mean what has Wright said that is inaccurate? Are we really that deep in denial in this country that we can’t see that this man speaks the truth? If this man is planting ideas in Obama’s head then that makes me feel better about Obama, not worse. And I’m a white guy saying this! Surely there must be some other white guys besides me and my dad that feel the same way. I’ll be honest, I don’t like Joe “I’m a Zionist” Biden. I’d be much happier if Reverend Wright were the VP. At least he’s got the guts to speak truth to power!

It’s nice to know that your son is contributing money to help other people. I really like Obama.. I hope America would have good future in his hands and to grow continuously.

  15. JD Says:

Regina, true, how about 4 months from now? This election is about many that may not have their homes in 4 months,or jobs. Thanks for the comment

  16. Jim Walton Says:

Money fraud, it is difficult to tell the difference between the parties the past several years. I hope Obama has the opportunity to lead and see if his vision of America leads to a better future.

  17. Jim Walton Says:

Money fraud, you are right and so is rev. wright. I am not a biden fan but if he can bring more votes to Barack, he will be worth it. Biden is more of Bush McCain. Thanks for your insight.

  18. Jim Walton Says:

Investment property, thanks for your visit and comment. I hope you have a chance to visit Talib’s site.

  19. Monex Fraud Says:

That’s because there is no difference. The sooner people realize this and snub both parties the better!
