Strengths vs. Weakness

This is an excellent topic. As a recruiter, my income is somewhat based on my candidate’s ability to review their strengths and weakness. If they are able to provide a thoughtful and compelling analysis regarding, they should be able to master the rest of the interview.
There is a lot written on this topic and I would like to hear some insight from anyone who has provided any answer, or asked the question, regarding strengths and weakness. As follows is a couple of links to help you relate to this topic, strengths vs weakness Another link is, Tell Me Your Weakness
This post still receives daily visits so there continues to be interest. the link from Dublin is outstanding and I hope you review.

Like Politics, Like Business,

Barack Obama is the most famous celebrity in the world. It has been implied that he is like Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. Barack represents the best Black America has to offer and we are rapidly discovering, he represents the best America has to offer. My wife told me about a poll, where the nations of the world were surveyed to determine the best candidate for President of the United States. It is my understanding Barack was the overwhelming favorite in all but 2 nations. One was his nation, USA, and the other was kept secret
Can you imagine how strong a insult it is for the best America has to offer, Barack Obama being compared to Paris Hilton, a woman recently incarcerated, and shown in a sex tape sucking dick. The other, lost custody of her children to KFed, and was wheeled into the psycho ward recently.
The good people of the United States seem to buy into McCain racist message. The race is even now after Barack historic and wildly successful overseas trip.
I have learned through my business life experience that white folk can bring down most blacks and there is a tendency to believe the vilest things said about us when said by another white person. This is very true in business and now we are seeing the same truth in politics.
The republicans are hoping for 2 things, the talk stays on race and Barack’s image, and not on issues. The other is that Barack’s young and black supporters do not show up on election day. The flip side of that is for this countries racist to become so enraged over uppity Negros, that they turn out in record numbers.
My college roommate sent me this compelling story line today. Have a look this helps to sum things up. Many of our accomplishments are not known and we are viewed as 3/5s a man. Let’s show them that the hands that picked cotton will now pick the President. Yes We Can!

WHY IS IT…
A Black Man

Why is it that a Black Man can create a tiny piece called a filament (electric light - Lewis Latimer) that allows people to see in the dark?

But can’t be seen fit to lead a country to the true light.

Why is it that a Black Man can create an instrument (clock - Benjamin Banneker) that all people use to tell time?

But people don’t think it is time for him to run a country.

Why is it that a Black Man can design a place for the high authorities to meet in and a place for the president to live in (The Capital and the White House Phillip Reid (a slave) and Pierre L’Enfant)?

But not good enough to lead these meetings or live in himself.

Why is it that a Black Man was brilliant enough to do the first open heart surgery (Dr. Daniel Hale Williams) and show the world how to get and preserve plasma (Dr. Charles Drew)?

But not good enough to put a program in place where everyone can afford this surgery.

Why is it that a Black Man was creative enough to design an instrument (traffic light - Garrett Morgan) to bring multiple people (traff ic) to a halt?

But not seen creative enough to design a plan to bring all this unnecessary and worthless fighting between countries.

Why is it that a Black Man could create the soles (shoes - Jan Matzeliger) that people walk on every day?

But not seen good enough to fill the shoes of a bad president.

Why is it that a Black Man was smart enough and brave enough to teach himself (Fredrick Douglas and Thomas Fuller - both slaves) and others how to read, write and/or calculate math?

But not seen smart enough and bold enough to calculate a platform to be President to a country that sure needs another first by us.

So you see my Brothers and Sisters what I am saying is let us not forgot our past, which led us to our present and can definitely be the backbone to our future. We were good enough, smart enough, creative enough, and bold enough then, so let us all give Obama the chance to show that we are still these things and more. We all are as strong as our weakest link, so do not be that weak link that denies our people that chance to show we still can OVERCOME AND BE THE FIRST!
OUR NEXT PRESIDENT OF THESE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA !

LET US ALL CONTINUE PRAYING THAT THIS PRESIDENT WILL ADHERE TO AND BE LED BY GOD

The Race Card

Man oh Man, there is so much that can be said about race in America, and yet again we have White people telling us how to act. Barack Obama mentioned that he is Black and John “I do not know much about the economy,” cries foul.
In the early morning, over the past decade, I have gone from, listening to The Tom Joiner morning show, to Sport’s Radio, Mike North, to Morning Joe on CNBC. I put it on at 5 am and listen to political talk.It is interesting listing to White millionaires speak about the regular people from West Virginia, Ohio and Michigan and why they do not like Barack. They do have blacks on their show, today Tiki Barber, whom I frist saw as a blur, running down the sideline for University of Virgina, in their upset win over Florida State, I had a sideline pass. Since the time of that fond memory, Tiki has gone on the have a pro football career, retired and now is in his 2nd year at NBC. I like Tiki, he is smart, ask great questions and knows he belongs.
Today debate Tiki was heard to say in agreement with all the other host and quess, McCain has not played the race card or tried to use race to his advantage. Hey if I am Tiki, making a great after football buck,I may have agreed also.
That is why these national shows need some real people living in the aftermath of a failed Presidency of George Bush to speak for them selves. Rednecks from swings states and brothers like me. I happen to think a lot of rednecks support Obama. As for me, I could give examples of racist efforts from the McCain camp.
Here is one, it is one I faced in corporate America and most blacks face. We get credit for being dynamic, motivational, well dressed, fun but God forbid, never strategic, smart or aware of details. That is a white thing reserved for mostly white men.
OK here is my example; John,”I don’t know much about the economy,” McCain, whom by his own admission finished 4th from the bottom of his Annapolis class, said of Harvard educated, and former President of the Harvard Law Review Board, as well as a Law School Professor at University of Chicago, does not understand issues, McCain said it over and over! Reinforcing the myth that Blacks do not understand complex issues.
The pundits say over and over America does not know Barack Obama, that is something else I heard in the corporate world, we just don’t know you. They should say, white America needs to know who Barack is. Blacks and Latins are showing overwhelming support.
In closing, I do not know what the term “race card” means but I do think it is a term that white folk made up and it is used to keep us in our place. We all know the only hope McCain and the Republicans have is to make this race about race! Your Thoughts?
