Promotional items support message
My high school band desperately needed to change their image. For years the band had gained an almost comical reputation caused by the music selection and the band’s apparent inability to play and march at the same time. This was a constant embarrassment to alumni as well as the current band. After a great deal of practice and assistance the band was ready for a concert series, but was concerned that their reputation would keep them from drawing an audience. For the week leading up to the concert, the band gave away a number of promotional items at various businesses, music stores and throughout the school, promoting the concert and the message that they were changing their tune. The music note shaped paperclips and notepads lasted a long time and encouraged former naysayers to become supporters of this underestimated band of musicians and helped change their reputation for the better
